Tan Wee Cheng

Mr Tan graduated from Nanyang Technological University in 1993 with first class honours in accountancy and also has a Masters in Finance from London Business School. He is a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) and is a Chartered Accountant Singapore.
He began his career as an auditor in a Big 4 international accounting firm in Singapore and later became an investment banker in London specialising in leverage buyouts. After returning to Singapore in 2003, he joined the Monetary Authority of Singapore where he was involved in policy formulation of matters relating to banking regulation. Between 2005 and 2007, he was the Group CFO of a Singapore Exchange-listed company, and had played a significant role in restructuring the group and getting it publicly listed.
Mr Tan currently runs a business consultancy practice, and is the finance director of ICOMOS Singapore Ltd (the Singapore advisory body to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization on conservation matters). He is also the Advisor (Governance & Finance) to the Singapore Heritage Society, a non-governmental organisation and registered charity with Institution of Public Character (IPC) status dedicated to the conservation of Singapore heritage.
Since 2009, he has been an adjunct associate professor in the National University of Singapore Business School and has taught modules related to accounting, assurance and finance.
