SAA-University of London First Class Honours Students Testimonials

2015
Lin Xinying, Yvonne
2015 First Class Honours Recipient,
BSc (Hons) Accounting & Finance

I had a rewarding experience pursing my degree in SAA for the past 3 years. Given the support and guidance provided by the lecturers in school, I graduated with a First Class Honors in Bachelor in Accounting and Finance with UOL. As much as hard work is important in this journey, I believed that the support given by the school/lecturers are equally important. I decided upon SAA to pursue my degree due to its smaller class size and a team of experienced lecturers.

I would like to thank the very dedicated lecturers at SAA-GE, namely Mr Teo Chua Chin, Mr Goh Sher Wee, Mr Tan Leong Chin, Mr Alan and Mr Ong Kang Lin. I would definitely recommend SAA to any of my friends who are seeking further education in a conducive and enriching environment!

Goh Koon Ling Grace
2015 First Class Honours Recipient,
BSc (Hons) Accounting & Finance

I would like to thank all my lecturers who have guided me tremendously throughout my journey with SAA GE. It has not been easy for me coming from a non-accounting background. However, having passionate lecturers like Mr Chung Kiah Sing, Mr Tan Leong Chin and Mr Alan Ng definitely helped me in establishing my foundation so that I can catch up with my peers. I wish to thank Mr Teo Chua Chin for making Economics easy to understand and meaningful.

The lecturers at SAA are detailed and patient in guiding us through sets of past year papers and ensuring that we make sense of the required workings rather than just going through the motion of doing so. They are also keen to share with us valuable industry experience so that we know what to face when we enter the working society. I have not regretted my choice in SAA with its conducive classroom size and approachable lecturers. Its central location is definitely a plus point too.

As I reflect upon my three years in SAA-GE, I resolve that the experience not only improved my academics in Accounting and Finance, but also equipped me in unpredictable ways for my career. These turned out to be vital to my development.

Early adulthood is a sensitive and formative part of our lives and it is even more so important that we take our learning to a school like SAA-GE. The lecturers are knowledgeable, approachable, friendly and always ready to answer my questions. There was encouragement coming from all sides and that should never be underestimated in developing an undergraduate.

I decided to pursue the accountancy career. I made SAA Global Education my first choice mainly because of the great reputation of the school. It is a leading school for accountancy and is affiliated to Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants, Singapore’s National Accountancy body. The great location of the City Campus is a plus point too!

I would like to thank all the lecturers who imparted their knowledge and advices to me. SAA will definitely produce many more first class graduates with the likes of Mr Teo Chua Chin, Mr Alan Ng, Ms Irene Tay, and Mr Tan Leong Chin around.

I would like to thank the very dedicated lecturers at SAA-GE, especially Mr Teo Chua Chin, Mr Alan Ng, Mr Goh Sher Wee, Mr Tay Eng Huat, Mr Tan Leong Chin and Mr Radhakrishnan for assisting and guiding me in achieving a First Class Honours degree.

I’m glad I made the choice to study in SAA Global Education. The reason I chose to study the University Of London International Programmes here was because of the smaller teacher to student ratio, allowing our lecturers to devote their attention on each student. I was able to clear most, if not all of my doubts, with the lecturers. Not only were they approachable, they were willing to dedicate their time to us. I definitely made the right choice studying at SAA Global Education and will be ever grateful for all the help that I received this past 3 years.

The location is convenient for a working adult like me, and the environment was new and conducive.

Last but not least, I would like to thank Mr Alan Ng, whom was my Management Accounting lecturer, for his patience and his dedication to his students. He was passionate in his teachings, and often gave us extra assessments for our practice which I believed was my key to success in his module.

The main reason I chose to study at SAA-GE was my initial perception that its lecturers were professional and knowledgeable. On both these counts I have not been disappointed. More than this, they have been willing to go the extra mile, to stay back after classes, to provide consultation sessions on extremely short notice and to provide academic advice beyond their personal subject areas.

The family-like atmosphere at SAA is not only conducive for learning but makes it a fun-filled process as well. I will look back on my years at SAA with fondness and for this I have to thank both my fellow students and lecturers, in particular Mr Alan Ng, Dr Radha(2010) and Mr Teo Chua Chin, for putting up with my numerous emails and for providing invaluable advice.

With its new and improved campus at Somerset, I see SAA-GE going from strength to strength and believe that with hard work, it is a great place to excel.

I made the decision to take my accounting and finance degree with SAA-GE due to its affiliation with ICPAS and its city campus that was very accessible. I am glad I made this decision.

When I first entered into the city campus I was already impressed by the setup and the excellent services provided by the admin staffs. As the classes were smaller, it gave us more opportunities to interact with the lecturers and my peers, learning from each other and fostering greater friendship.

The lecturers were very experienced and dedicated, with Mr Teo Chua Chin, Mr Goh Sher Wee, Mr Alan Ng, Mr Tan Peng Kwee and others who were always there to answer my queries and taking time off their busy schedule to provide consultations. I would not be able to achieve my First Class Honours without their guidance and help along my 3 years.

With the school at its new premises that is equipped with better facilities, I am sure it will continue to produce more excellent students.  Once again thank you SAA-GE!

The lecturers are of rich experience in their expertise field. They will not only teach what is in the curriculum but also share what is beyond the textbook. It will enlighten your exposure to the various industry practices.  I will always remember Mr Alan Ng for his constant patience and always being approachable to students. Dr Radha, who always understand the part where students needed the help most, and offer his assistance at the right timing. Not forgetting Mr Teo Chua Chin, Mr Ong Kang Ling, Mr Michael Goh and Dr Lim Tian Khoon for all their sharing of experience with the class.

The admin staffs here are very helpful and will always remind the students the various dates (registration, exam, enrolment etc) throughout the course. They always offer their assistance to the students in need. From my personal experience, I have got great help for my bank loan procedures. It really helps to simplify and hasten the complex process.

And of course one of the best part of SAA-GE is it is located in town. The location is convenient for almost everyone. It is ideal for part time students who need not rush down after their work.

My choice to pursue a direct honours degree in Accounting and Finance with SAA-GE – the training arms of ICPAS proved to be the right decision. The class sizes were small and the interactions with the lecturers were invaluable. We had ample opportunities for discussions with the lecturers and peers, gaining great insights.

The academic staffs are very professional and dedicated, with Mr Teo Chua Chin, Mr Alan Ng, Dr Radha, Mr Tay Eng Huat, Mr Tan Peng Kwee and other lecturers who provided guidance and showed endless patience throughout my three years of study. They were willing to sacrifice personal time, never shying from the questions we have.

I believe that with the great support and guidance, coupled with hard work, SAA-GE is the institute where one can excel.

Tang Jung Jie Nicholas

Business Student at NTU in 2010

I started my degree studies in the BSc Banking and Finance programme at SAA-GE during my National Service and hence had to do it on a part-time basis. I was however impressed by the dedication and professionalism offered by lecturers such as Mr. Teo Chua Chin, Mr. Alan Ng and Mr. Michael Goh, who provided practical application to the concepts being taught. Industry trends and other relevant external articles and documents are often provided to offer greater insight.

Mr. Teo and Mr. Alan Ng have also been extremely dedicated and professional in replying email queries. Even when in doubt, Mr. Teo would personally consult University Of London personnel or redirect my queries to the appropriate personnel in charge to expedite the process.

For working professionals who are worried about industry recognition, the University of London BSc Banking and Finance as well as the BSc Accounting and Finance programmes are recognised for numerous exemptions into the ICPAS Professional Examination as well as the ACCA programme, of which I have been exempted from 6 papers.
