Inderpal has a PhD in Accounting, 2009, Curtin University of Technology Thesis title: Determinants of intellectual capital disclosures: a comparative study of IPOs in Australia and Singapore. Furthermore, he completed his Professional Year Program with Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia in 1999.He has a Bachelor of Commerce (First Class Honours), Accounting & Finance, 1997, University of Western Australia.
Inderpal Singh is an Australian Chartered Accountant with almost 20 years’ experience in the resources and education sectors. In 2003, Inderpal established Singh Corporate Pty Ltd, a consulting firm specialising in the oil and gas sector (Singh Oil and Gas Consultants) and also provides custom training to corporate clients and government agencies (Singh Training & Development). The company provides audit services to international as well as local oil and gas companies and custom training courses in oil and gas accounting and joint venture auditing to corporate clients such as CNOOC and delivers master-classes in Financial Reporting, Management Accounting and Applied Finance, Auditing and Assurance to Big 4 accounting firms and several oil and gas contractors. Dr. Singh is also Managing Director of R2 Group Pte. Ltd., a consultancy firm based in Singapore.
Dr. Singh commenced his career at Deloitte in Perth in the assurance and advisory division. Dr. Singh has held the role of Financial Controller at Tribune Resources, at a time when the company was transitioning from a gold explorer to producer. He has experience working in Asia in countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong and China.
Dr. Singh has also held senior academic positions at Curtin University and the University of Western Australia where he was responsible for designing and delivering courses in financial accounting and auditing. He also teaches in the MBA program at the University of New South Wales. Since 2001, he conducts focus sessions for the Chartered Accountants program in Australia. Subjects include Assurance and Audit, Management Accounting and Applied Finance, Financial Reporting and Strategic Business Management.
