Chu Mui Kim

Ms Chu graduated with an accountancy degree from NUS with second-class honours. She is a Singapore Chartered Accountant and is a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants. She also has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland.
Ms Chu has worked as a Financial Analyst with Exxon Chemical. In that capacity, she played a regional role by providing financial advice and reviewing the financial results of the affiliates in the Asia Pacific region. She was also an Accounts Manager with a computer company where her responsibilities included financial accounting, cash flow management and debt management. She received a scholarship from KPMG and hence, started her career as an auditor with the firm.
Ms Chu currently teaches Auditing and Assurance and Principles of Accounting for the University of London international degree programme in a leading institution. She has won the Annual Teaching Excellence Award during her tenure with the school in both 2011 and 2014. This award is given to recognize faculty members who have demonstrated a high level of commitment to, and excellence in teaching.
She also plays the roles of module leader, external examiner and writer of course materials, such as subject guides and teaching guides. She has previously taught ACCA F3 and F8 papers in leading schools.
Other than academic teaching, Mui Kim has been an effective trainer in the area of financial training for corporations. She has trained executives, managers, and heads of departments and general managers of major corporations in Singapore. Her workshops are very well received, as a fundamental part of her training is a focus on the practical application of learning to the daily roles of professional participants. She trains and advises, not for mere academic interest, but for the implementation of ideas, concepts and techniques into people’s jobs.
